AIA Commends Pa. Gov. Rendell on Koken Nomination
The American Insurance Association commended Pennsylvania Gov. Edward Rendell for his nomination of Diane Koken to the post of Insurance Commissioner.
“Commissioner Koken’s commitment to the industry and consumers has been proven time and again during her tenure at the Pennsylvania Insurance Department,” said Taylor Cosby, AIA vice president, mid-Atlantic region.
Koken was confirmed by the Pennsylvania Senate as Insurance Commissioner in December 1997 and again in February 1999. She was appointed Acting Commissioner by Governor Tom Ridge in August 1997. Prior to her appointment, the Commissioner was vice president and general counsel for a major life insurer.
“Commissioner Koken has helped to promote a competitive and stable insurance market, which has ultimately benefited Pennsylvania consumers,” continued Cosby. “AIA and its member companies look forward to continuing working with Commissioner Koken on the important issues facing insurance carriers and consumers in Pennsylvania.”
