N.J. Township Presented with Special Recognition Award by GSMJIF
The Township of Hamilton (N.J.) was presented with a Special Recognition Award for achieving the highest Safety Certification Score by the Garden State Municipal Joint Insurance Fund (GSMJIF), in a ceremony held at the Township’s municipal offices this week.
Earl Miller, executive director of the Fund presented the award to Mayor Glenn Gilmore, Andrew Salerno, Township Business Administrator and Walter Bronek, Township Safety Director.
“Any joint insurance fund is only as good as its member municipalities,” said Miller, “and this award is in appreciation of the work done by Hamilton in contributing to the overall success of the Fund.” Gilmore added, “A joint insurance fund is a team effort and we are pleased and proud that Hamilton has been recognized for its contributions to keeping GSMJIF claims costs down. Sound safety management helps protect Township employees and saves the Township money. And those savings are passed on to the taxpayers.”
The GSMJIF is one of the largest joint insurance funds in New Jersey, whose nine member towns comprise over 325,000 taxpayers.
