Conn. Commissioner’s Surgery Goes Well; McLaughlin Fills In
Connecticut Insurance Commissioner Susan Cogswell underwent successful surgery for treatement of a non-cancerous growth near her ear and the doctors have advised the family that the surgery went very well, according to a spoksperson for the insurance department.
Jayne McLaughlin, chief of staff, has been named acting commissioner during Cogswell’s medcial leave.
Cogswell was herself chief of staff in the department before being appointed to the job of commissioner in June 2000. She previously worked in management positions at The Travelers Indemnity Co. and The Chase Manhattan Bank.
