Forklift Worker Burned in Explosion at Long Island Industrial Plant
A worker at an industrial plant on Long Island is being treated for second-degree burns over 50 percent of his body after a propane tank powering a forklift expoloded.
A fire official says the critically injured 41-year-old male victim was taken to Nassau University Medical Center.
The man was employed at an industrial complex in Melville. The fire official says officials are investigating whether the explosion happened as the forklift operator was changing a propane tank.
The Suffolk County Police Department could not be immediately reached for comment.
