Reed Enters Race for Delaware Insurance Commissioner
Democrat Gene Reed has formally entered the race for state insurance commissioner.
Reed is a longtime employee of the insurance department and currently serves as the manager of insurance consumer protection enforcement.
He’ll challenge two other Democrats in a September primary. The others are Thomas Savage and Karen Weldin Stewart. The Republican candidate is Sussex County Recorder of Deeds John Brady.
Reed says he will push for creation of a health insurance purchasing pool and expansion of the Children Health Insurance Program.
