Harassed Former High School Hockey Player Gets $30K Settlement
A former hockey player at Watertown High School in Connecticut who had filed suit accusing teammates of hazing him and using homosexual slurs is receiving a $30,000 settlement.
The Waterbury Republican-American has obtained the settlement amount under a Freedom of Information request.
Jonathan Jablonowski claimed teammates called him “gay” and a “faggot” while he was a a member of the team from 2001 to 2004. He claims he was subjected to locker room harassment including mooning, foul speech and swearing.
Jablonowski filed suit in January 2005 against the school board and coaches Mike Fusco, Pete Montesano and Vic Vicenzi Jr.
