Maryland Man Charged with Arson
A Hagerstown. Md. man is facing arson charges in a fire behind his apartment building.
The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s office said a pile of debris was found burning outside 503 West Washington Street. Authorities said 19-year-old Kenneth Platt removed his girlfriend’s clothing from their apartment and used an ignitable liquid to set the clothing on fire.
Investigators say Platt was arrested with a loaded shotgun in his vehicle. He’s charged with arson, malicious burning, malicious destruction of property, and possession of a concealed dangerous weapon.
