Storm Damages 15 Homes in and Around Accident, Maryland
The National Weather Service is taking a close look at storm damage in far western Maryland to determine whether it was a tornado.
Police say no one was hurt by the storm Wednesday evening, but about 15 homes in and around the Garrett County communities of Accident and Friendsville were damaged.
State Police Sergeant James Hare says a tornado was reported in the area, but the sighting hasn’t been verified.
Allegheny Energy says it has restored power to all but about 40 of several hundred customers who lost electricity during the storm.
