Maryland Man Charged for String of Arsons in Baltimore
A 28-year-old Maryland is facing numerous arson charges after police connected him to a 1997 fire.
The Frederick County Sheriff’s Department arrested Wayne Duncan Monday afternoon after he allegedly started four fires. He is charged with arson, attempted arson, burglary and reckless endangerment.
Police say Duncan set a Brunswick home on fire on Sept. 3, 1997. More than 10 years later, police say, he started a July 26 fire at a business in the 3900 block of Jefferson Pike in Jefferson. Damages were approximately $750,000.
Six days later, police say he started a fire at a barn in the same block, and he returned four days later on Aug. 5 to set a nearby home on fire.
Four people escaped that blaze.
