Man Seriously Injured at D.C. Construction Site
Authorities say a 42-year-old man has been seriously injured at a construction site in southeast Washington, D.C.
D.C. fire department spokesman Alan Etter says the man had been installing an elevator door on the seventh floor of the building, when a piece of equipment struck his head. The incident occurred about 1:15 p.m. Wednesday at the New Jersey Avenue site.
Etter says crews used a crane to rescue the man, who was 70 feet above ground.
He says the man was taken to the hospital with a serious head injury, but remained conscious.
