Vermont Woman Dies in Fire
Vermont State Police fire investigators are searching for the cause of a fire that killed a 57-year-old St. Albans woman.
Christine Malbouef was found inside the Lower Newton Street home around midday Sunday. She was pronounced dead at the hospital.
When firefighters arrived flames were coming from the second story and there was thick smoke throughout the house.
State police say two firefighters were injured combating the blaze, but the extent of their injuries was not released.
Damage to the house was estimated at $60,000.
