Insurance Will Cover Maryland Cemetery Vandalism
The Sheriff’s office in Washington County, Maryland says as many as 55 tombstones were knocked down in Riverview Cemetery in Williamsport.
The vandalism probably occurred Sunday and was discovered Monday by a resident taking a walk.
Deputy Corey McCarthy says five of the knocked down stones were cracked.
Craig Osborne, president of the Riverview Cemetery Association’s Board of Directors, says much of the damage can be fixed. He is expecting a repair estimate by Tuesday, and believes insurance will cover the cost.
