New York Man Accused of Illegally Running Asbestos Firm
A suburban New York City company is accused of illegally representing itself as certified and licensed to perform asbestos testing.
Westchester County District Attorney Janet DiFiore (dee’-fee-OH’-ray) says Earth Research Laboratories owner Dominic Perruccio has been arraigned on a charge of scheme to defraud.
She says asbestos testing is strictly regulated by New York state. She says the Peekskill company’s state certification was suspended in March 2007 for various infractions.
Perruccio is accused of continuing to claim his company was licensed.
He’s due back in court next month. He faces up to four years in prison if convicted.
He hasn’t replied to a telephone message left at his home. No one’s answering the phone at his company.
