Arsons Continue in Southeastern Pennsylvania Community
Authorities say a fire set on a porch that destroyed one house and damaged another is the latest in a string of arsons plaguing a southeastern Pennsylvania community.
Officials say two families totaling 11 people were displaced by the pre-dawn blaze Monday in Coatesville, 35 miles west of Philadelphia. Minutes later, firefighters were called to another fire set on a porch that was put out before causing much damage.
Fire officials say the city has been hit with about 20 suspicious or intentionally set fires in the past year, including one fatal blaze.
Coatesville police are asking residents to remove items from their porches, keep porch lights on and report suspicious activity or trespassers.
