Ironworker Dies after Fall from Northern New Jersey Bridge
A northern New Jersey ironworker has died after falling from bridge where he was working.
NJ Transit spokesman Dan Stessel said 34-year-old Casey Moran of Bayonne fell 30 feet onto the railroad tracks of the Lower Hack Bridge on Tuesday. The span carries rail traffic across the Hackensack River between Kearny and Jersey City.
Moran was transported to Jersey City Medical Center, where he later died.
The contractor was replacing a steel staircase outside the operator house on the bridge tower.
