Massachusetts Man Struck by Tractor while Napping in Field
Authorities say a man apparently taking a nap in a Northampton, Massachuetts rye field suffered head and shoulder injuries when he was struck by a tractor.
Deputy Fire Chief Timothy McQueston tells The Daily Hampshire Gazette that firefighters and police responded to a patch of farmland along the Connecticut River at about 4 p.m. on Tuesday for a report that a man was trapped under the farm equipment.
The farmer was tending the field and did not see the man until it was too late.
The man, whose name was not made public, was bleeding from the head and shoulders, but was conscious and answering questions as he was taken to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.
McQueston did not know the seriousness of the man’s injuries.
