Virginia Storm Damage Estimated at $69,500
Emergency officials in Virginia’s Pittsylvania County say a July 17 tornado and storm caused an estimated $69,500 in damage.
The National Weather Service has confirmed that an F-1 tornado touched down in Hurt that day. The tornado was part of a storm that uprooted trees in northern Pittsylvania County.
Jim Davis with the county emergency management office says the damage estimate reflects an initial survey of the affected areas and could change.
