D.C. Subway Hires Defense Firm for Crash Suits
Metro has selected a law firm to defend the agency against lawsuits stemming from the June crash on the red line.
Metro spokeswoman Lisa Farbstein says Wilson Elser Moskowitz Edelman & Dicker, LLP will represent the transit agency and supplement Metro’s in-house counsel.
Farbstein says seven suits related to the crash that killed nine people and injured dozens have been filed against Metro. She says legal fees will be paid by an insurer under the terms of Metro’s policy.
The move to bring on additional lawyers was first reported by the Legal Times. A firm spokesman says the firm does not comment on pending litigation.
