New Hampshire Tannery Hit by Fire
Investigators are looking for the cause of a predawn fire at an unoccupied former tannery in Nashua.
The Nashua Telegraph says firefighters responded to the alarm at 4:36 a.m. Saturday. A pile of debris and discarded building material was on fire at the former Mohawk Tannery building.
The tannery is a federal Superfund cleanup site. It produced tanned hides for leather from 1924 to 1984.
