Maine Turnpike Construction Worker Injured
State police say a Maine Turnpike construction worker suffered a broken back when he was struck by a car in the southbound lane in Kennebunk.
Police say 34-year-old Travis Pelletier of Berwick was thrown into the median Monday morning after being struck by a pickup driven by 26-year-old Adam Johnson of Scarborough as the worker attempted to cross the three lanes of traffic to adjust a sign in the median.
Pelletier was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland. Trooper Edmund Furtado said the driver was not at fault and no charges are expected.
