Penn State Student Tackled During Naked Run Sues for Damages
A Penn State student who took part in an annual naked run on campus to usher in spring finals claims in a lawsuit he was injured after being tackled by university police officers.
Christopher Ferry, of West Chester, sought more than $150,000 in damages from the school in the suit filed last week in federal court in Williamsport.
Ferry said an officer knocked him down during the 2008 run before three more officers tackled him as he staggered to his feet. The lawsuit says Ferry was later diagnosed with a concussion and broken collarbone.
Criminal charges against Ferry were expunged from his record. He claims unlawful arrest, excessive force and other charges.
University officials declined comment, and said they had not read the complaint.
