Experimenting Workers Start Pennsylvania Candy Company Fire
Experimenting workers at a western Pennsylvania candy company started a fire that left one employee injured.
The blaze broke out Thursday evening at the New Castle Candy Company. Fire officials say employees were experimenting with heating up oil when it caught fire.
New Castle Fire Department Assistant Chief Mark Panella says a startled employee knocked over a pot of the oil and the fire spread throughout the second floor. The worker who was handling the oil suffered minor burns.
Panella says the building sustained about $100,000 in damages.
