Fishermen Escape Injury when Boat Sinks in Maine
Three commercial fishermen escaped injury when their vessel sank in treacherous waters off eastern Maine.
The Coast Guard says the three people aboard the Miss Priss abandoned their vessel Saturday afternoon after striking a submerged object in an area of Cobscook Bay known as Reversing Falls. The fishermen were picked up by another fishing boat and safely taken to shore.
Coast Guard officials say they are monitoring the wreck for signs of pollution since it was carrying 150 to 200 gallons of diesel fuel when it went down.
