New York City Teen Sues School over Stabbing
A Bronx teenager who was stabbed and beaten with a baseball bat during a wild melee outside his high school is suing the New York City school system, saying a school security guard blocked his only escape route.
A lawyer for Gustavo Ramos says the 17-year-old was an innocent bystander to a gang battle, and tried to get away by fleeing into his school.
But the teen says the guard wouldn’t let him inside and closed the door on his fingers, leaving him to the mercy of attackers who stabbed him three times.
Ramos was in the hospital for six days.
The city’s legal department says it couldn’t comment on the suit.
A teenager has been arrested in the assault.
