A man severely injured when a load of snow pushed off a highway overpass by a pair of plows landed on his truck as he passed below has been awarded $4.3 million by a Plymouth County jury.

Mark Lambert, whose family owns a small chain of grocery stores, was driving a truck loaded with plants and produce on Route 44 in Plymouth in January 2005 when it was crushed by a load of snow two plows operated by P.A. Landers Inc. of Hanover pushed off the Route 3 overpass.

Lambert’s lawyer says his client suffered serious back injuries and is no longer able to work.

The lawyer tells The Boston Globe that the entire incident was a “travesty.”
