FEMA Adds Second New Hampshire County to Disaster Declaration

The Federal Emergency Management Agency has granted New Hampshire’s request to add Hillsborough County to the major disaster declaration covering damage from rain, wind and flooding in March and April.

The declaration issued earlier this month covered communities in Rockingham County, but the state asked that other counties be considered as well.

Gov. John Lynch says he is pleased that towns in Hillsborough County will now be eligible for federal aid and that he is working with other communities to see if they also might be eligible.

The funding helps communities and the state cover emergency operations and repair costs to infrastructure and public buildings.
