Vermont Building Fire Ruled Arson
Investigators say a fire that damaged a century-old building in downtown Barre, Vermony was arson.
Officials say the Memorial Day fire caused more than $200,000 in damage to the upper levels of the three-story brick building that formerly housed a Key Bank.
The Barre mayor’s office had just bought the building and the mayor had planned to move his office there.
The fire started shortly after the Memorial Day parade ended on Monday. About 100 firefighters battled the blaze, which was brought under control at about 7 p.m.
