Vermont Dealing with Airport Parking Lot Break-Ins

Authorities are dealing with 15 break-ins at an auxiliary parking lot at Vermont’s Burlington International Airport.

City officials say the break-ins happened between April 21 and 26 at the overflow lot on the north end of the airport. That’s where customers are directed when the parking garage is full.

City official Sue Trainor tells the Burlington Free Press damage included broken windows and theft of items.

Some insurance claims have been denied, and Trainor says the city is working to resolve them.

Trainor says the city had recently taken over operation of the auxiliary lot from a contractor when the vandalism happened. Since then, the city has increased lighting and security at the lot.
