Small Fires Again Prompt Pennsylvania Dorm Evacuation
Authorities say someone has started fires inside a northeastern Pennsylvania dorm for the third time in 10 days.
The latest fires were set inside trash cans early Tuesday in a dorm at East Stroudsburg University in the Poconos. About 350 students had to be evacuated.
The fires were quickly extinguished by campus police before firefighters arrived at Hawthorn Hall. Fire officials told the Stroudsburg Pocono Record that no one was hurt but a few students reported respiratory irritation.
Tuesday’s fires were the such third incident to prompt the dorm’s evacuation this month.
