Storm Near Virginia Community Confirmed as Tornado
The National Weather Service says a storm that damaged a shed and trailer and knocked down trees near Machipongo was a tornado.
Weather service meteorologist Mike Montefusco told The Virginian-Pilot that the F-0 tornado left a path of damage about 30 yards wide and a quarter of a mile long as it moved through the area Monday afternoon
One person was injured.
