Maryland Bus Accident Kills Driver, Injures Dozen
A Maryland fire department spokesman says a dozen people injured when a bus plunged off a highway outside Washington remain at area hospitals.
Montgomery County fire department Assistant Chief Scott Graham says that as of midnight Wednesday, eight adults and children remained at Suburban Hospital and four were at other hospitals. Graham says he does not know whether the victims were still admitted or if they were waiting for family members.
The victims were aboard a Pennsylvania-based Wolf’s Bus Lines Inc. bus that careened about 45 feet off a skyramp of Interstate 270 Wednesday afternoon in Bethesda. The bus driver was killed.
Investigators are trying to determine what caused the accident.
