New Hampshire Fire Marshal Closes Haunted House
The New Hampshire Fire Marshal’s office has closed down a haunted house in the town of Hill.
Haunted house organizer Barbara Perkins says someone called the fire department last week and complained that a fog machine used in one room created too much fog.
The Hill Fire Department referred the issue to the fire marshal’s office.
Deputy Fire Marshal John Raymond says they’re not trying to put them out of business, but the Hill haunted house had the potential to be dangerous.
He tells the Concord Monitor there was too much combustible material, such as tarps, plastics and tar paper in the haunted house and too much potential for an electrical fire.
Perkins says it took seven weeks to get the house ready for Halloween.
