New York City Construction Accident Kills 1, Injures 3
Officials say a construction worker was killed and three others were seriously injured while they were erecting a cinderblock wall in Queens.
A fire department spokesman says the accident occurred on Queens Boulevard in Elmhurst.
Emergency crews arrived on the scene a minute later and transported all the victims to Elmhurst Hospital.
The spokesman said the man who died was 26 years old.
The other three victims were in serious condition, suffering from trauma and fractures.
The spokesman says the workers were pouring cement when scaffolding fell on the wall. He says the wall then apparently fell on the men.
He did not know what was under construction.
