Massachusetts Repair Shop Owner Arraigned for Bilking Insurers
A Massachusetts man who allegedly collected over $28,000 in fraudulent insurance claims for work performed at his automotive and glass companies has been arraigned on fraud and larceny charges, according to the state’s attorney general.
Investigators say Robert Giller, of Swampscott — owner and President of Advanced Automotive Concepts in Peabody and treasurer of its glass repair affiliate, New England Glass Co. — masterminded a scheme that involved falsifying invoices and other paperwork that was submitted to insurers to pay for work that was never performed on motor vehicles.
He faces 20 counts of insurance fraud, 18 counts of larceny and two counts of attempted larceny.
