Maryland School Bus Hits Crossing Guard
An Anne Arundel County crossing guard is suffering from life-threatening injuries after being struck by a school bus in Glen Burnie.
County Fire Department spokesman Lt. Cliff Kooser said the 40-year-old woman was taken to a Baltimore hospital in serious condition after she was hit Wednesday morning at Furnace Avenue and Sunnybrook Drive, near Point Pleasant Elementary School.
A county schools spokesman says the bus driver and four students on the bus were not injured. He says those students and three others who were walking nearby will meet with counselors Wednesday, and their families will be notified.
