Virginia Woman Pleads Guilty to Church Arson
A woman has pleaded guilty to setting fire to a Louisa County church in retaliation for being spurned by a love interest.
Media outlets report 51-year-old Felicia Armstrong of Mineral pleaded guilty Monday in Louisa County Circuit Court to arson and burglary.
Commonwealth’s Attorney Tom Garrett said Armstrong admitted setting fire to St. John Baptist Church in Mineral. Garrett says Armstrong set the fire after a firefighter who attended services there would not return her romantic interests.
The January fire caused $22,000 in damage.
Armstrong faces up to 30 years in prison. Sentencing has been set for July 18.
