17 Hurt in Maryland Bus Crash
Authorities say a motor coach bus has gone off the road and overturned in Queen Anne’s County, injuring 17 people, including 10 children.
The county fire department says the bus overturned at Route 213 near Centreville on Thursday morning. Video from television stations show the bus on its side in a field.
County Chief of Emergency Services Kevin Aftung says the bus was headed from Worton Elementary School in Kent County to the National Zoo in Washington. He says a car may have swung out in front of the bus, sending the bus off the road, where it rolled and hit a utility pole.
Aftung says most of the injured had bumps and bruises, but one of the seven injured adults was flown to Shock Trauma in Baltimore.
