Accident Victim, New York City Reach Settlement
A Staten Island woman injured in a car accident involving a police emergency vehicle has settled her lawsuit with the city for $400,000.
According to court records, Ashley McNeely suffered a ruptured spleen and hip and rib fractures in the Dec. 5, 2009 accident.
According to her lawyer and a police accident report, the 17-year-old McNeely had entered an intersection with a green light when her Volkswagen Jetta was struck by the emergency truck.
According to the Staten Island Advance, the city Law Department said the settlement was in the best interest of all parties.
