Lightning Strike Sparks Fire at Maine Ski Lodge
Fire officials say a lightning strike sparked a fire at the Mt. Abram Ski Resort in Greenwood as a fast-moving storm rolled through the area.
WGME-TV reports General Manager Kevin Rosenberg says lightning hit the lodge at about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday,
Rosenberg says no one was in the building at the time. Employees had already left for the day.
Several area fire departments responded to the blaze.
Greenwood Fire Chief Albert Curtis says when crews arrived on the scene they saw 30-foot flames shooting from the roof.
