Leaky Hose Soaks DA’s Office and Allegheny, Pa. Courthouse
Water from a broken air conditioner hose has soaked the offices of the Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office in Pittsburgh.
The hose was on the fifth floor of the granite courthouse, which opened in 1888. The water leaked into the prosecutor’s office on the third and fourth floors below.
DA’s spokesman Mike Manko says no staffers have been sent home. Instead, workers have been moved around, so they can do their jobs Monday while county maintenance crews removed ceiling tiles and set up fans and dehumidifiers to dry up puddles of water.
County spokeswoman Judi McNeil says the hose started leaking Sunday. The county has yet to assess the extent of the damage.
The courthouse is on the National Register of Historic Places.
