Lawyers for Man Shot by Maine Police Post Video
The attorneys for a Maine man shot by police have posted video of the shooting online as part of an effort to show Portland officers had no reason to fire at him.
The website was created by Jonathan Mitchell’s legal team and family and includes videos taken by police cruiser cameras when he was shot April 10.
Some of the video is displayed in slow motion.
The Portland Press Herald says the video is from cameras in police cruisers.
The 30-year-old Mitchell, of Veazie, is being held on a variety of charges. Mitchell is suing police.
Police say he was shot when he drove his car at two officers who were approaching him on a dead-end street and he refused to stop. He was hospitalized after being shot twice.
