Pennsylvania Junior Firefighter Gets Prison in 2 Arsons
A junior firefighter from southwestern Pennsylvania has been ordered to prison for setting fire to two houses, including one that burned briefly while his grandmother slept upstairs.
The Tribune-Democrat of Johnstown reports 19-year-old Kenneth Roy Beeman apologized Wednesday as he was sentenced to at least 21/2 years in prison.
The former Boswell junior firefighter was accused of setting a fire at a home where his girlfriend worked as a nanny then set another inside his grandmother’s home on January 2. No injuries were reported in either fire.
The Tribune-Democrat report says Beeman’s attorney had asked the judge to consider his client’s cooperation in the case.
