Exploding Tire Injures Maine Worker
Officials say a Bath Iron Works employee is hospitalized in serious condition after a tire he was changing exploded at the shipyard.
Bath Fire Chief Steve Hinds said the man was taken to Maine Medical Center with severe facial trauma after the accident early Monday afternoon. The worker was not identified.
BIW spokesman Jim DeMartini told The Times Record he wasn’t sure if the tire was on a privately owned vehicle or one owned by the shipyard.
