Trapped Workers Rescued from N.Y. Building Collapse
Firefighters have pulled three workers out of the rubble of a New York City construction collapse.
The Fire Department of New York says five people were injured in the collapse at the five-story building in Brooklyn. One person is in critical condition. Two are in serious condition.
Images from a helicopter over the scene in Brighton Beach showed rescuers scrambling to claw their way through a pile of rubble where the building had mostly crumbled to the ground.
At one point, a blowtorch was used to cut through the debris and pull a trapped worker onto a stretcher. The worker was lowered down by the nearly two dozen firefighters and other first responders at the scene.
