Lamborghini Wrecked in Fiery New Jersey Crash

December 14, 2011

Police have charged the driver of one of the world’s fastest and most expensive sports cars with drunken driving after it crashed and burst into flames on a New Jersey highway.

State police say 35-year-old William Sherman of Short Hills was driving the yellow 2002 Lamborghini Murcielago on Interstate 78 when he struck a guardrail in Bedminster early Monday.

State Trooper Christopher Kay told the Courier News of Bridgewater emergency crews found the Lamborghini engulfed in flames.

Kay says a female passenger was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The car had a suggested retail price of about $275,000 in 2002.
