Couple Accused of Burglarizing 3 Dozen Homes in New Hampshire

Police arrested a man and a woman who are accused of burglarizing about three dozen homes in several New Hampshire towns.

Police in Weare said the break in the case came when the police chief made a routine traffic stop in November that led to indictments against 23-year-olds Tara Butts and Timothy Mills of Epsom. He noticed their inspection sticker had expired.

WMUR-TV reports when Chief Gregory Begin looked over their car, he said he noticed items that he knew were connected to several recent burglaries, such as collectible baseballs and jewelry.

Detectives said Butts would knock on doors pretending to ask for directions to make sure no one was home, then Mills would break in.

Officials said they found several stolen items in the couple’s home.
