New Hampshire Man Dies in Construction Accident
Fire department officials say a 19-year-old construction worker has died after a rod from a metal bracket fell and embedded in his forehead in Manchester, N.H.
Fire District Chief Jim Michael said someone yelled to warn Tyler Walsh. He looked up as the bracket fell from a window or ladder and pierced his skull over his right eye Monday. It was more than a foot long and a half-inch in diameter.
WMUR-TV reports emergency crews needed to use a welder to shear the rod off so Walsh could be taken to a hospital. He did not regain consciousness and died Monday night.
Walsh was working for his uncle’s company doing framing at a home under construction. The bracket and rod belonged to a subcontractor working on the roof.
