Lightning Investigated as Cause of Pennsylvania Fire
Officials in suburban Philadelphia, Pa., say lightning may have caused a four-alarm fire that displaced 30 people and sent several firefighters to a hospital.
The fire broke out shortly after 10 p.m. Sunday at the Windsor at Harper’s Crossing complex in Middletown Township, Bucks County.
Langhorne Middletown fire Chief Frank Farry says the fire was reportedly started by lightning from a strong storm that moved through the area.
The Red Cross says 30 people were displaced by the blaze. Eight apartments were damaged in the fire and more had smoke and water damage.
Five firefighters were taken to a hospital for various injuries but officials said none are considered life-threatening.
