Cops: Drunk Drivers Collide on Upstate New York Street
Authorities say two drivers were both drunk behind the wheel when their cars collided on an Albany, N.Y., street.
Police tell the Times Union of Albany that the accident happened around 3:30 a.m. Sunday at an intersection in the city of Rensselaer, across the Hudson River from Albany.
Officers say a 21-year-old woman from Albany and a local man were driving in opposite directions when they crashed.
Police say the woman had a blood-alcohol content of 0.20 percent, more than twice the legal limit of 0.08 percent. She was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated.
The man was charged with DWI. His blood-alcohol content wasn’t available.
The woman wasn’t injured. The man was treated for minor injuries at an Albany hospital.
