New York City Condo Owner Files Storm-Related Lawsuit

A resident of Manhattan’s financial district has filed a storm-related lawsuit against his condominium board and its management company.

Jonathan Stark filed the suit in Manhattan state Supreme Court on behalf of himself and other condo owners in the 37-story Greenwich Street tower.

Stark told the Daily News that the board and Cooper Square Realty have refused to pursue owners’ insurance claims for damages to the building’s common areas.

Residents have been told it may be four to six months before they can return to the building. Water filled the basement and lobby during the storm.

The Department of Buildings deemed the building uninhabitable.

Cooper Square Realty didn’t return calls seeking comment.
